Meet with an Attorney from the Safety of Home

Meet with an Attorney from the Safety of Home

Over the last 3 months thousand of Americans have lost their lives to COVID-19.  The coronavirus pandemic lead to our economy shutting down, and fears of an even resurgence as we attempt to reopen.  We are not through this yet, and we are still being warned that we should stay at home as much as possible and to practice social distancing and wear a mask when out in public-especially if you are advancing in years or have a weakened immune system due to an underlying condition or injury.  Unfortunately, this means that workers who have suffered serious job injuries or those who have conditions which have disabled them are more at risk, but these Alabamians are still in need of legal counsel to help them with their cases.

So, what do you do if you determine that you need to meet with an attorney for help in your claim?  Going it on your own most likely will not go well if you are not experienced with the legal issues you will face, but just talking to some faceless voice on the phone (often not that of an attorney, but of one of their staff) doesn’t fill someone looking for help with confidence.  Most people really want to see their lawyer and know that the attorney knows who they are so they can better understand their needs.  The answer is a video meeting so you can actually see and speak with the attorney who is supposed to be representing you.

At Powell and Denny, we have been meeting with potential new clients, existing clients and doing Court hearing virtually via Zoom. This way those seeking advice are still able to actually see the attorney who is supposed to be representing and discuss their claims person to person in a safe manner.  We believe that it is important for clients to be able to actually see their attorney-not just hear their voice over the phone-while taking precautions to keep safe.

If you have suffered a job injury and you have questions about your right to Alabama Workers’ Compensation benefits, or you have been denied Social Security Disability or SSI benefits and you need help appealing your denial, don’t hesitate to contact Powell and Denny and schedule a virtual appointment with one of our experienced Alabama Workers Compensation and Social Security Disability today attorneys for a free consultation today; and remember, virtual appointments are available via Zoom for your protection from the coronavirus pandemic.
