Meet with a Lawyer for Free
“Call us today for a free consultation.” Every television attorney ad you see ends with this phrase, and the expectation is that everyone watching the t.v. ad understands that if they call the television firm, they can talk to a lawyer for free, which makes sense. The television firms don’t spend millions of dollars a year asking for people to call their office just to refuse to talk with them on the phone…except how many times does the general public get to speak with an actual lawyer when they call the T.V. lawyers? And does the “free consultation” mean that you can sit down and talk with a lawyer?
I have had attorneys for large advertising firms tell me that they come into work with several new files sitting on their desk daily. Now, they didn’t talk to these new clients before they were hired-so I’m not sure who the prospective clients talked to during their “free consultation,” but it wasn’t the attorney who was given their case.
At Powell and Denny, a free consultation does not mean that you can talk with someone employed by our firm; it means that you will talk with either Mr. Powell or Mr. Denny about your case. It means that if you want to meet with us to review the facts of your case in further detail-you can do so, either personally in one of our offices or virtually via Zoom. We understand that if we don’t sit down to talk through the facts of your case, we cannot make any meaningful determination as to whether we believe we can be of assistance to you; and if you cannot sit down and talk to us-you really can’t determine if you feel comfortable with us representing your interests.
If you live in Alabama and have suffered a job injury, or if you believe that you are disabled, and you have questions about your rights under the law-don’t hesitate to contact and speak with one of the experienced Alabama Workers Compensation and Social Security Disability attorneys at Powell and Denny today for a free consultation. Appointments are available in person, or virtually via Zoom if more convenient.
