Over 160,000 Americans have died from problems related to the novel coronavirus pandemic.  We have all learned a new way to arrange our lives to better protect ourselves and others.  Social distancing and wearing a mask are the new normal-and no one knows when things will get back to the way it was before the emergence of COVID-19, but people are still in need of the services of experienced attorneys.  Workers are still suffering job injuries and disabled Alabamians are still wrongfully being denied Social Security Disability benefits.

Given the current social climate, State and Federal Courts are asking that hearings (and even some trials) take place virtually, and the system adopted by the Alabama Court System is Zoom.

Zoom is a computer program that allows persons to see and speak with each other from the safety of their homes instead of forcing one to drive to an office to sit in close proximity in an office with someone else, and at Powell and Denny we are using Zoom to virtually meet with our existing clients and with potential new clients.  These video conferences help protect clients, while allowing us to see and talk with each other.  We believe that these virtual meetings help our clients form a stronger relationship with the attorney who will be representing them, and help them feel more comfortable with their legal team.

We have been signing up new clients, meeting and preparing current clients for hearings and depositions, and conducting Court hearings since the pandemic began, and our clients seem to like and appreciate the ease of video conferences.  Moreover, the ability to have virtual meetings allows injured workers and those seeking disability benefits from all over Alabama+ to meet with, hire and get the benefit of the 28+ years of experience the lawyers at Powell and Denny have in handling workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability claims without having to worry about the distance from their homes to our offices.

If you would like to meet with one of our experienced Alabama Workers Compensation or Alabama Disability Attorneys-we can easily do so while ensuring that you are not unnecessarily exposed to the coronavirus.  We can email, fax or mail any needed paperwork to you and handle the case virtually until you are comfortable coming in to meet with us in person.  And for our existing clients-appointments can easily be scheduled so we can meet virtually to discuss your case as well.

If you have questions about your right to Alabama Workers’ Compensation benefits, or Social Security Disability or SSI benefits, don’t hesitate to contact the experienced attorneys at Powell and Denny today for a free consultation.
