Coronavirus, ZOOM and Hiring a Lawyer

Coronavirus, Zoom and Hiring a Lawyer

The last 4 months have been trying times for everyone.  The country is facing the coronavirus pandemic that has taken the lives of over 130,000 Americans.  The economy had to reopen, but with the reopening came a spike in the number of COVID cases.  The Governor has extended the Safer at Home Order through the end of July-and no one would be shocked if it were extended through the rest of the summer (at least), and we are being asked to stay home when possible and to practice social distancing with a mask when we have to get out.

This is how society is going to be for a while, but people still have legal needs which require the assistance of an experienced lawyer.  Workers are still suffering job injuries, and the disabled are still being wrongly denied Social Security Disability benefits-but people are understandably wary of driving to an attorney’s office to sit down and meet with them.  Fortunately, you do not have to do this in order to hire an attorney thanks to availability of programs such as Zoom. Not only does this help protect you during the coronavirus pandemic, but it enables you to actually see the attorney who will be representing you in your claim and help form a stronger relationship with your lawyer.

All of the attorneys at Powell and Denny have over 28 years of experience handling Alabama Workers Compensation Claims and claims for Social Security Disability or SSI benefits.  Now- wherever you live-you can put the experience of Powell and Denny to work for you in your claim, all without having to drive in for an appointment and from the safety of your home.

Dealing with clients whom we cannot currently sit down with across the desk is not anything new for us.  As Alabama workers’ compensation attorneys, we have handled cases where our clients lived in different cities.  We have represented clients who lived as from California, New York State, Texas, Florida and places in between as many jobs require workers to drive through various States, and when they suffer a job injury in Alabama, they want an Alabama Workers’ Compensation lawyer.  Now, we are able to continue representing clients who live throughout the country and see each other while talking through a Zoom appointment, and we can do the same for more local clients and potential clients who are warry of getting out during the COVID-19 crisis.

If you would like to meet with one of our experienced Alabama Workers Compensation or Alabama Disability Attorneys-we can easily do so while ensuring that you are not unnecessarily exposed to the coronavirus.  We can email, fax or mail any needed paperwork to you and handle the case virtually until you are comfortable coming in to meet with us in person.  And for our existing clients-appointments can easily be scheduled so we can meet virtually to discuss your case as well.

If you have questions about your right to Alabama Workers’ Compensation benefits, or Social Security Disability or SSI benefits, don’t hesitate to contact and speak with one of the experienced attorneys at Powell and Denny today for a free consultation.  Virtual appointments through Zoom are available.
