Alabama Workers Compensation Lawyers Another Taxpayer Bail Out

Alabama Workers Compensation Lawyers: Another Taxpayer Bail Out: Recently I was reading another article on the push Walmart, Nordstrom and other large corporations are making to undercut the protections afforded injured workers by workers compensation laws. These corporations have founded and funded a lobbying firm named The Association for Responsible Alternatives to Workers' Compensation draw up new laws and try to push them through State Legislatures; unfortunately they have been successful in Texas and Oklahoma. South Carolina and Tennessee are flirting with the idea, and ARAWC has said they intend to invade Alabama as well.

These new plans undercut the limited workers compensation benefits injured workers are entitled to receive, and instead allows the corporations almost total control over what (if any) medical treatment an injured worker can receive and what (if any) compensation a worker might be able to receive should they suffer a permanent injury. These plans save corporations millions of dollars, but at the expense of injured workers, their families and us-the tax payers.

The fact is that if injured workers are no longer able to obtain needed medical treatment or receive fair compensation for their permanent injuries, then they will have no choice but to turn to the State and Federal programs in place to help-programs paid for by taxpayers like you.

Once again the American taxpayer is being asked to shoulder the burden so corporations' ever increasing appetite for more profits grows does not have to be impeded. Why do citizens continue to support corporate backed laws, knowing that they will not share in the increased profits of corporate America, but we will be asked to pick up the bill. Why do we allow laws to be passed which attacks injured workers and their families?

If you suffered a work injury, don't give up.
