Alabama Disability Lawyer My Attorney didn't do anything

Alabama Disability Lawyer My Attorney didn't do anything

We hear it all the time. Alabama citizens who have applied for Social Security Disability benefits, who hired some TV law firm after being denied their disability benefits. Many of them tell us that they did not meet with a lawyer when they had an appointment to see one-rather they meet with a secretary and they took down the information. Not surprisingly, these disabled Alabamians rarely meet with a lawyer prior to the day of their hearing, and they are disappointed that the attorney who is in the commercial was not present at their hearing; a young lawyer who didn't know what they looked like was there to represent them.

These citizens call our office after they have been denied their Social Security Disability benefits, and they are upset because they say the lawyer sent to represent them didn't do anything. No questions asked during their hearing, no new evidence submitted which they had obtained from a treating doctor, nothing. We are called because they want someone else to appeal their denial as they have lost confidence in their lawyers. Unfortunately, we rarely take cases we did not handle at the hearing level for appeal because the grounds for our appeal center on what happened during their hearing; on the legal arguments made and evidence submitted by the initial attorney. While occasionally we are able to take the appeal, this does not often happen, and generally the disabled person has to reapply for their disability benefits. If this is you, if your application is again denied, consider calling Powell and Denny to represent you in your claim for Social Security Disability or SSI benefits.

At Powell and Denny, both Mr. Powell and Mr. Denny have over 24 years of experience handling Social Security Disability claims, as well as SSI claims. We meet with our clients at the onset, and will speak with us during the pendency of their claim. Prior to our hearing on our client's claim for disability benefits, we will personally meet with our client to prepare them for the hearing. This is not something you can do in 5-10 minutes; it takes time to explain everything to your client and to review the records and evidence we have complied so our client can do their best at their hearing.

If you have been denied Social Security Disability benefits, and you have questions about your right to disability benefits, don't hesitate to contact and speak with one of the experienced Alabama Social Security Disability Lawyers at Powell and Denny today.
