Can I Get Disability Benefits for Avascular Necrosis

Can I Get Disability Benefits for Avascular Necrosis

Can I Get Disability Benefits for Avascular Necrosis? Avascular Necrosis (also called osteonecrosis) is the death of bond tissue due to a lack of blood supply and it can lead to tiny breaks in the bone and may lead to the bone's eventual collapse. Osteonecrosis can be caused if a bone if fractured, or a joint becomes dislocated; the hip joint is the body part most commonly affected. It can also be caused by excessive alcohol consumption.

Like many people in Alabama, I first heard of Avascular Necrosis when Bo Jackson's football and baseball careers were cut short as the result of the condition forming after his hip was jerked out of joint, damaging the blood supply to his hip bone.

Depending on the severity of the condition, you might be unable to perform work activities full time on a sustained basis. If your Avascular Necrosis causes: Chronic pain which restricts your ability to perform normal activities; limits your ability to walk without the aid of crutches or a walker; significantly limits your ability to use your arms or severely limits the range of motion of the effect area, you may be entitled to disability benefits.

If you live in Alabama and have questions about your right to Social Security Disability benefits or SSI benefits, please feel free to contact one of the experienced Alabama Disability Lawyers at Powell & Denny today for free.
