Job Injury Birmingham, AL Can I receive both SSDI and TTD benefits

Job Injury Birmingham, AL Can I receive both SSDI and TTD benefits: Yes. TTD benefits are 2/3rds of your average weekly wage, and they are not "earned" income, so drawing ttd benefits does not count as income per se, and therefore disqualify you from drawing Social Security Disability benefits. However, it will lessen the amount of disability benefits you are entitled to during the period you are drawing ttd benefits as you are only allowed to draw 80% of your average weekly wage and remain on disability, meaning that the Social Security Administration will lower your monthly disability benefits in a set off during this period. Once you are placed at maximum medical improvement (mmi), your right to ttd benefits stop and you should inform the Social Security Administration that your check has stopped so your monthly disability check can be adjusted.
